Experienced Eye Care Doctors
Dr. Gorman is our Senior Optometrist with over 40 years of service in the community. Dr. Gorman received his undergraduate degree from UCONN and his doctorate from New England College of Optometry in Boston. He serves as President of Connecticut Visual Health Center which provides continuing education for Optometrists in Connecticut. His passion for providing continuing education is second only to his passion for excellence in patient care. Dr. Gorman loves group practice, sharing therapies and patient outcomes of challenging cases to all the doctors at Family Vision Center. He believes this enhances each doctors experience and leads to better care for our patients. Dr. Gorman is a native of the Bridgeport area and enjoys tennis, golf and watching the UCONN soccer and basketball teams. He currently lives in Trumbull with his wife. He has 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren.

Dr. Shawn Burns practices in both our Stratford and Bridegport offices. Dr. Burns received his doctorate from the New England College of Optometry in 1999. He also obtained a degree in Chemistry from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1995. Dr. Burns enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Dr. Burn says, "Family Vision Center is a satisfying and fulfilling environment in which to practice optometry both and professionally and personally. I can diagnose and treat patients with the latest technology and get to know them and their family." When not in the office, Dr. Burns loves spending time with his family playing golf and is an avid hockey fan. He lives in Milford with his wife and 2 daughters.
Dr. Lorraine Fedyna is a full time Optometrist in our Stratford office. Dr. Fedyna has over 22 years of experience in optometry. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Fairfield University and her doctorate from New England College of Optometry. Dr. Fedyna specializes in ocular pathology, diseases of the eye, and specialty contact lens fittings. She enjoys fitting bifocal contacts and toric contact lenses to those who can benefit and anyone who may have been told they can not wear contacts previously. You may also see Dr. Fedyna in our frame room as she loves to help with frame selection and repairs. She had this to say about our practice, “Family Vision Center has state of the art equipment in the office and therefore allows me to more precisely diagnose and treat patients”. In her spare time, Dr. Fedyna likes to run and participate in triathlons. She lives in Newtown with her 2 daughters.
Dr. Robert Buck works full time in the Bridgeport office. He has been an optometrist for over 15 years having received his optometric degree from the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Buck obtained a B.S. in Biology from Oglethorpe University in Atlantta in 1983. He particularly enjoys helping patients find solutions to their vision needs. Whether it is through eyeglasses, contact lenses or managing the effects on vision of systemic and ocular disease. Dr. Buck says, "We are lucky in this practice to have an array of advanced technologies to serve our patients needs." Dr. Buck is a native of New Haven. He lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Birminham, Alabama for 10 years. He and his wife, Maggie, own a horse farm in Southbury which she manages. They offer lessons and branding facilities. In his spare time, Dr. Buck enjoys collecting antiques.
